Bishop David F. Milne DD asked: You get the chance to attend an open semi-underground MMA tournament, one KO and your out. You must accept all rules and gear, and all you travel costs etc. It is open to all weight classes, except to get a tournament champion will be ith only chance you fight outside your weight class. The styles are Submission Grappling, Fist Fighting and NHB. Would you attend yes or no why?

Rockhound asked: I’m training in MMA and last night during submission grappling, I took several knee shots to the head and the back of the head. I wasn’t wearing protective head gear. Today, I’m a little woozy but I just want to come back for more. My juices were flowing and loved the action. I can’t seem to get enough. Is this weird? Who else loves this stuff … maybe a little too much like me? Kaia!!!!

Phoenix Delray asked: Mixed martial arts (MMA) is so popular these days that MMA fight gear has skyrocketed in demand in a short period of time. MMA is a sport that derives from a variety of martial arts and fighting techniques. It is a full contact combat sport that many critics and the media usually portray as rather brutal. Both traditional martial arts techniques and non traditional ones are used in competitions. Contrary to most other sports, both striking and grappling is allowed, whether the fighters are on the ground or standing up. The Ultimate Fighting Championship was formed in 1993, launching MMAs popularity. Initially, the UFC operated under the basis of finding the best martial arts moves for real unarmed combat situations. There were very few rules or worries about safety. Nowadays, there are many more rules for increasing safety to gain more public acceptance of the sport.
The different fight gear that fighters use help prevent injuries and promote their safety. There are many different categories of MMA fight gear, ranging from gloves to mouth guards and helmets. Also, warm up sweatshirts, mitts, and shorts are big sellers. MMA gloves are available in open palm and closed palm styles. The gloves are very popular because they do not interfere with flexibility or grip. The gloves vary in heaviness, and also will not inhibit the wearers dexterity.
MMA Gear that is considered just as important as any other piece of equipment is the focus mitt. Trainers claim that focus mitt training is just as important as the bag training. The mitts are comfortably curved to fit excellently, which also prevents hand cramps. They fit securely to help you improve your accuracy and timing with coordination.
Probably the most critical piece of MMA fight gear that must be worn is the mouth guard. Many people think that a mouth guard only protects your teeth and mouth. It does, but wearing a mouth guard properly will also prevent you from suffering a concussion with a blow to the teeth. Protecting the mouth and teeth will help decrease your risk of getting knocked out, getting cuts inside your mouth, and getting your jaw broken.
For those who are looking for protection during their stand up training and fighting, included in MMA fight gear are helmets that are made from thick, rubbery material called Bayflex. These helmets are heavier, more durable, and more expensive than other helmets, but the protection they provide is invaluable, especially when one is the only thing standing between you and a coma.
This is just a small sample of the MMA fight gear that is available to MMA fighters. Before you start training for or practicing for Mixed Martial Arts, be sure to go get some MMA fight gear first!

Brian_Urlacher_54 asked: Me and a friend recently got interested in MMA, and I am thinking about taking up some Ju-Jitsu classes. Well neway, i recommended the movie Never Back Down to him and he called me and said he and I need to get gloves/mouthpieces/etc. And spar. So i agreed. But im thinking maybe we could do more.
Questions:
1: If we kept it between close friends, and had ppl sign waivers so that its not like were making them do it would it be okay?
2: I was thinking about buying several sets of gloves/head gear/etc, and just having them buy their own mouthpeices, and watever else.
3: Get a few more ppl and set up tournaments, and if we get enough maybe weight classes, etc.
Could this be okay if we made rule and made sure they were followed.
Like no going 100%, or atleast no full on face shots, no crotch shots, etc etc. Any thing else?
Im not just some wannabe teen that thinks Im bad ass, i was just thinking maybe it would give us something to do, and stuff.
What is the worst that could happen if we kept in in a basement, and werent making ppl pay for it. And had ppl sign waivers saying that they are allowing themselves to do it and know what could happen.
Also, my uncle is a state trooper so.. would that help me out any?? Just asking.
And, id make sure that either I, or my friend refereed it and made sure nothing happened, and prolly make it to where if the person falls down and doesnt get up within 3 secs or so its over, unless it goes into a submission. Then they have 10 secs to submit or i have them break, etc.
